Windsor Custom co-Founder Brian Mazza developed an appreciation for the finest in menswear at an early age through his father, who instilled a love of fashion and understanding of quality, cut and design. A native New Yorker, he attended the University of Rhode Island where he majored in Communications and dedicated a year to pursue his true passion and studied Fashion and Art in Florence, Italy at Lorenzo de Medici. When he returned to the States, he accepted a position working in sales at Generra and also merchandised the collection for their top retailers. He subsequently began exploring the hospitality industry at The Paige Management Group where he quickly rose to Director of Hospitality and soon after became Vice President of the Paige Group. Windsor Custom combines Mazza’s expertise and love of the best in entertainment and dressing. Since the debut of the custom menswear brand, Mazza has dressed influencers ranging from actor Albert Brooks for the Golden Globes and chef Todd English to professional athletes such as Ryan Lochte, Ramses Barden, Brandon Prust and Willie Colon to musician Diplo. He has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, GQ, Details, Esquire, The Financial Times, Forbes, Essential Homme, Gotham, Mens Health, Robb Report, and Time Out New York among other publications.
Fellow Windsor co-Founder Matt Shendell is the Queens native turned socialite and nightlife impresario that is behind PAIGE Hospitality Group, New York’s premier operations and Hospitality Company. Specializing in high-end event planning and event production, PAIGE properties include Ainsworth Park, 121 Fulton Street, The Ainsworth, Windsor Custom, Southampton Social Club, and The Ainsworth Las Vegas.
The always forward-thinking Shendell noticed the lack of upscale sports bars in NYC and decided his next venture would marry high end dining and sports. The Hill was opened and served as the beginning of PAIGE Hospitality Group’s upscale sports bar and restaurant empire followed by openings of: THE AINSWORTH, 121 Fulton Street, Ainsworth Prime at Madison Square Garden, Ainsworth Las Vegas & Ainsworth Park. To further enhance the marriage of high end dining & sports, a need for men’s custom clothing seemed to be the perfect addition, hence the birth of Windsor Custom, situated beneath The Ainsworth.
A combination of Shendell’s unique vision and his emphasis on accessible hospitality led to the success of his world renowned venues. He has always felt like high-end dining and sports could mix if done correctly. Filling that void with The Ainsworth in 2009, New Yorkers took a liking to the combination of the two making the venue one of NYC’s hot spots for three years and running. He enhanced the model with bottle service, high end steak dinners and an overall upscale dining vibe. Shendell and PAIGE successfully enhanced the sports viewing experience while retained a fine dining feel. The popular concept has captured both sports fans and diners in New York and will continue to expand throughout the country.
